It was just frozen on the satellite dish and i had to invent something to clear it off from my daughter's window using a long extension pole. Of course I found out that ewtn.mobi is also great way for getting these historic moments into my memory. Pretty happy I'll be able to listen into EWTN while working during the conclave.

Do you remember how happy you probably were when Ratzinger's name was announced? I do. For some reason I was home that day, a grace, a gift to have been there to see the beginning, and now to see live the last moments as well.

Here's to praying the Holy Spirit will pick our next Pope as well! One commentator today prayed that the Holy Spirit would give us the Pope we need and not the one we deserve. God is like that, his mercy, his lovingkindness, his generousity always way more than we deserve!CWriteshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06654242399318374459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2416649589454162340.post-7360411732312130222013-02-28T16:43:37.574-06:002013-02-28T16:43:37.574-06:00Thank you, Colleen. Missing him so much, but so grateful to God that we had this extraordinary servant of His to shepherd us almost 8 years. God bless him and give him peace.

Hope you kept the snow off the roof! That was very nice of you, and this little site welcomes the traffic!
This is available off of the Vatican's news service as well, but I was so touched by the last lines in particular that I wanted to put it up here. I have been feeling this same need for awhile to get across to others this fact, this true reality that so many seem to miss. It seems the difference between an unshakeable faith complete with the Joy of the Lord, and an insufficient one that leaves one open to worry, anxiety, and turning toward worldly comforts and guidance, rather than turning and trusting in the Lord, who is near surrounding us with his love!

That is where my self-sufficiency post before this came from, and then the post where I shared St. John Cassian's writings on Psalm 70:1 on Community of Catholic Bloggers.

So when I heard that last line, it resonated profoundly!

I will definitely miss this Pope, this wonderful creation of God, the man who is Pope Benedict XVI. He did look much weaker than i can remember during the footage yesterday. I know and am thankful his mind is so sharp, but I can't help feeling relieved that he won't have that schedule to keep anymore.

Didn't you get a kick out of him kissing the babies on the forehead as he was making his way through the crowd?CWriteshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06654242399318374459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2416649589454162340.post-81786739315764170962013-02-28T15:44:21.396-06:002013-02-28T15:44:21.396-06:00Thank you so much for this. I've really felt a sense of family as we say so long TOGETHER to this blessed man who has led us so well.
Nancy Shumanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05584199691076992017noreply@blogger.com
